~Whirlwind~

 I am home once again following a wonderful whirlwind trip of sight-seeing, shopping and selling at a wonderful show...I'll have another post soon with all the amazing "booty" I found on this trip!

 Our first day was spent shopping in the Shenandoah Valley (of course) antique and primitive shops. On the second day, we woke up to a little blanket of snow. Snow is something we rarely see in eastern NC so I had to take a few pictures....

 This is the wonderful view of the lane as you drive up to my mother's house...It looks beautiful sugar- coated in a dusting of snow...There are a couple of crows near the bottom...They are so sound sensitive and I have had a hard time getting a shot of them in the past...I need a better zoom lens!!

 I finally got to see this little church inside and out...This quaint painting hangs inside and is a much better representation than I was able to get with my new camera! ...It sits atop a small hill and I have passed by it my whole life and always loved its simple country charm...

 This describes a little history concerning it's early beginnings...I think the congregation now is around eight people ...Families have come and gone and some have decided to go to  larger churches ...It's sad to see places like this full of history and overlooked because they are not modern enough...

 It does have it's own small and ancient cemetery...However, there are many buried here with no headstones...Long ago buried and unknown to the present churchgoers...No one knows anything about them other than that  they are there...it's just so interesting to find out little things like this!

This house sits behind the church...I love old brick and these old colonials are common in our area...I would have loved to get closer but it was purchased recently and the owner is currently doing renovations...I live here in my dreams!!!
