~ A Pieceful Day ~

I have come down with quilt fever really bad! I spent a couple of hours today finishing this quilt top...I had a lot of leftover blocks from  last week and I just had to do something with them. I was thinking of a duplicate quilt top but decided on this idea instead...
I am still new at this stuff...My experience has only been reading countless instructions and buying lots of quilting books.Unfortunately,  I will have to attempt the quilting part pretty soon...I don't know why this is like a hurdle for me but I will surely let you see what it looks like when I am finished with it ...good or bad!!
Speaking of quilting books, I just bought these  and they are filled with so many things I'd like to do!! I have read them and re-read them and drooled over the civil war fabrics on every page...I was so lucky to get my paws on the Barbara Brackman book(top) on ebay...it was one heck of a deal... I had been waiting patiently for this particular book for over a year now because I didn't want to pay a fortune for it ... I finally stumbled upon a bargain!...I guess good things do come to those who wait....
The saga continues...

Tina

Hi Tina~
Love your quilt top! Looks very old. The quilting takes practice but don't be afraid to get started. If you are trying hand quilting don't worry about getting tiny stitches at first. Just try to keep them uniform. It took me some time to learn to "rock the cradle" and get several stitches on my needle at a time. The hand quilting is my favorite part of making a quilt. I have the Barbara Brackman book. It's a good one! Have a blessed Easter. Lori
