~ Attack Cat-to the Rescue ~

Today we had a buzzard swoop into one of our trees outside...They are so large and you rarely see one so close-up ...unless you are roadkill or something bad...So this was a great surprise and a big event for a sleepy Sunday afternoon ...

After running for the camera, I started trying to get shots of the bird...I was so wrapped up on the buzzard shots that I didn't at first notice the attack cat below at the base of the tree...This is our sweet "Yard Kitty"...She is an outside cat that lived here long before we moved here...We befriended her and adopted her and love her dearly ... As you can see, she is very protective of her territory...

I tried to snap as many shots as I could while Yard Kitty had him treed...I'm very amazed at just how long he stayed perched there...At one point, I guess he knew he was in her sights and thought it best to high tail it out of there...

Our Yard Kitty watched him fly away, she was so brave and may have gone up there after him, if provoked...Bravery knows no bounds... It's strange how my camera took this last shot...She looks so angelic while standing her ground...She is our hero!

Take Care,

Tina

We have those turkey buzzards in these parts too. Boy! They have a face only a mama could love. Yikes!
We had one sitting on our barn roof once and he sat there for quite some time.
They really are huge!
But I bet ol' Yard Kitty could of handled him. :> )
