I have been busy this week getting everything ready for an unexpected trip to Virginia...I got a call from my mama early last Sunday morning letting me know that the Lexington Garden Club was sponsoring a home tour of some of the wonderful old log cabins in the area this weekend...A couple cabins date from the 1700's and I think the rest are in the 1800's...Now honestly, how on earth could I say no to this? All I have been doing in the past is riding by...snapping photos...and drooling heavily while looking at the outside...Now I'll get to go inside...and walk around their gardens...Yippee!!

Of course, there is always some little snag...this time it was five red homespun curtains that I had promised to make for my sweet mama way back in February...I don't know about you, but I hate to do something that I have to do...So I put them off until last Sunday after she called ...That's when I got around to cutting them out and I just finished sewing them yesterday!! The good that came out of this is an extra set of curtains. I changed my mind and made them completely different than I had originally planned...Instead of lining them with a contrasting homespun (they were going to be reversible)...I just doubled them and had enough material for ten curtains...Yeah!! Necessity (and time) is the mother of invention!
I shall return with many pictures!
Take Care,
Tina
