Life is never a straight road ...There are so many twists and turns...and sometimes great things present themselves . If your eyes are open...you see them...if not, you let them go... I never thought that I would be in charge of Early Work Mercantile but my eyes were open and I saw the possiblities and my heart is on board...So I'm giving it a try...

... Shades of Pumpkin ...

I love this time of the year... The colors change into beautiful shades of brown, orange, gold, and red... This is my favorite color pallette and although nature only shows us these colors this time of the year, I choose them all year round for my primitives...

I usually just consider myself lucky to grab a few of the standard orange supermarket pumpkins...However, this year I was lucky enough (thanks to my sweet mama!) to bring home a beautiful variety of shades!!!

... Size Doesn't Matter ...

I have been wondering why this particular birdbath ( I have two) has been empty every evening. I keep it filled and check it regularly so it was a big mystery as to why it stayed empty. I mean, every time I look out my window I always see sparrows and chickadees splish-splashing around...the amount of water that they splash out is in the droplet range...

One morning I happened to be peeping out my window and was very, very surprised to find a crow shimmying around in the birdbath...I had to run and get the camera as fast as I could

because I have never seen anything like this before...I had to have proof!! A very large crow in my birdbath...the two just don't go together for me! I was raised on a farm but I thought I was the one with refined taste...I guess this crow has it too!

... Another Great Show!! ...

I'm back home now after a whirlwind weekend at Notforgotten Farm... Lori put together another wonderful event and there was another pretty big turnout...Who wouldn't come to see her beautiful farm and primitive creations?! Thanks so much Lori (and crew) for all your hard work...

I'm still in recovery mode right now so I'll keep it short today...I've included some photos of my booth and I'm happy to say that most of these gals have found a warm and loving home!! It was humbling to see so many olde friends and to meet so many new ones... I really appreciate all of you who stopped by ... I want to especially thank my best buddies from Maryland who have made the trek down to VA each year. Lorraine and Robin, thank you sooo very much for putting this on your calendar every year...we are so happy to see y'all!!

...Sleeping Angels...

Ahhh, I remember these days well... I know I keep harping on my busy schedule (and it is!! ) but it helps me to relax to talk about it ... While I was busy stuffing and sewing today, I happened to look around to see these two little knots on a log ... I thought I would share their deep sleep with you all... and wish for a good nights sleep in the future...Did I mention my husband is a loud and heavy snorer??!!!

... SyFy @ 9:00 ~ Wednesday ...

Whew, it's been a busy day...I can honestly say I have got a lot of things done today! My horoscope (Libra) said I would get distracted and off course ... Surprisingly, I did get off course this morning but I kept thinking about my horoscope and was determined to get myself turned in the right direction and I managed to salvage the rest of the day... It's amazing how accurate the planets and stars are sometimes... I would have had a wasted day if I hadn't made an effort to go against that reading!!

Tonight is Wednesday and I can't believe I haven't mentioned my most favorite show of all time by now ... wait for it... "Ghost Hunters" !!! I can't wait for tonights show. They'll be investigating two historical houses...I love it when they do the old homes...especially the colonial ones!!!

... Playing Hooky ...

Today was such a beautiful Fall day...The humidity was so low and there was a nice breeze and plenty of sunshine... as perfect as you can get!! I got up this morning with every intention of finishing my goodes for the upcoming show ~Next Week... AAARRRGGGHH!!! I think you know where this is going... Yep, I went shopping instead and was so estatic to finally find mums and pumpkins . I had to get some of both and I spent the day repotting the mums and decorating the house for Fall. If you follow my blogging, you know that I start my search for Fall in mid-July. The stores are always so slow to catch up with me. I sometimes see Christmas items in the store before my beloved Fall...what's up with that?? Anyway I thought I would show you a picture of the mound I have to whittle down during the course of this upcoming week...I feel like crying when I look at it but I have to get it done... Wish me luck...

I have some great photos to post this week of my newly seasonally updated house...So please be watchin'... I know you've heard this before but tomorrow morning I plan on finishing my goodes for the show next week...Please refer to previous paragraph...
