...Update ...

When has anything every gone smoothly? I'm a little behind schedule this week but I finally have everything together and will be adding to my Picturetrail tomorrow. It has been sitting empty like a shell for a very long time and I think it's time to start adding a few things! I haven't done ebay for a long time and the big thing now is "selling sites" so I may be considering posting new stuff on my own sites in the future. I'm breathing a sigh of relief (short list done!) and will be listing tomorrow so please check them out if you get a chance!

...What ?.. When ?.. Where?...

Just a little note to let you know that I am planning on many listings early next week. I have been working on lots of little things and each one is in stages and slowly starting to come together.
I just noticed the other day that I haven't updated my website for awhile...I 'll have some new listings for that soon too. I'm always asking myself...Where does the time go?...Alas, I never have an answer but I would love to know!!

...Rug Hooking 101...

I really, really wanted to call this post "Hooking on Sunday"but manners and fine upbringing prevented me from doing so...So secretly I'll call it that!! Anyway, I dedicated my entire afternoon to trying to master hooking...rug hooking, that is...It's not very hard to learn in that getting the strips of wool through the burlap is not a chore. I have to say though I'm not too fond of the burlap and I'll probably get linen next time. I do need to practice my hooking design too because it looks a little sloppy this time...It's still very fun and very relaxing despite these little hang-ups of mine... Unfortunately, I'm starting to crave wool now like I crave fabric. There are so many pretty shades out there and so little time...oh no!!!

...Busy Hands ~ Busy Mind...

Well, I'm on an upswing now and I have so many irons in the fire...I don't know what to do!! I am still working on my patchwork quilt and if everything runs smoothly it will be a Christmas present for my parents this year. I also just started teaching myself how to rug hook and I already have a few designs in mind for the near future. Then there's four primitive dolls I just started work on for my Picturetrail and finally there's the Izannah Walker Workshop tossed into the mix. I work on a little each day and I feel like I'm making progress in each area...

I have to say, the economy has had me in a slump lately but I'm pulling myself out of my worrisome state...I am not solving the economic crisis by worrying about it so I'm back to work...~Busy hands and busy mind ~

...Signs of Life...

As time goes by, the seasons are definitely changing. Signs of life that were patiently waiting underground are now pushing through... Today was a beautiful warm sunny day and I found this nice little spot of green in my still brown yard... It doesn't look like much now but it is full of potential and in a matter of time will be growing and bursting with color. It's one of the many irises that I brought home from mama's last Fall...I have lots of colors to look forward to soon ~ a painters palette. It will be so nice to have a little splash of color this summer and I can't wait to start filling this blog with beautiful blooms!

...An Obsession ...

It's a year later and the quilt I wanted to have finished for Christmas is still in the sewing room in pieces! I have started over on it twice changing the block sizes and trying to get better at cutting a straight line...You might laugh but I'm one of those people who can't draw a straight line (much less cut one) even if you gave me a ruler! This is my handicap...making each square the same size...Luckily, I don't give up too easily so I'm still piddling away at it ~ Trying to get it all pieced together soon. I chose a scrap quilt because I'm a closet fabriholic and I have so many fabrics it's not funny...Also, I like the colorful look when everything is thrown together...and it's very forgiving for someone like me!

One nice thing is I always have company when I go to my attic sewing room. The cats pop out of nowhere when they hear the door open. I made them a little bed near the window so that they can take a little nap and bask in the sun while I toil away...Oh, the life of a cat...eat, sleep and purr!!
