... Sewing.. Sewing and Sewing...

I have been busy at work these last couple of days. All it takes is a little buckling down and a little perseverance to get things done. Don't get me wrong, I love to sew and to create and I was born under a very creative sign (Libra) so that just intensifies my desire to throw things together. But, I also have the tendency to go through very productive spurts and very non-productive spurts...I happen to be in my non-productive spurt right now...Don't worry though, something will click soon and I'll be on fire...painting, sewing, quilting... the works!!
At my age, you accept what you can't change...this is my pattern and I'm fine with it...it's me!!

My rabbits (above) are coming together and I should have them finished tomorrow...I have a full listing for The Primitive Gathering this time...lotsa primitive rabbits...with a little twist...So please check me out on March 1...

...An Empty Urn...

Do ya ever have one of those weeks when you feel like you're treading and running and plowing forward then you step back only to see that you haven't really gotten as far along as you thought?...That's the story of my present life. I feel like I have been doing things but there's nothing I can show for it...It's total exasperation for me!! Today I will be organizing my taxes and arranging a visit with the dreaded tax man...This is something I have clearly been avoiding!! I dread it but feel so much better once it's over and done with for the year...If I were a psychologist, maybe I could connect these things together...maybe?
***
I am trying to finish up some primitive rabbits for The Primitive Gathering for March...treading, running, plowing...I hope to have them ready ... on time... I have been gathering all the materials I need to begin my first ever Izannah Walker doll. The body should be easy enough but the sculpted paper mache head will be my challenge...I will be starting her this week...Many and much to do!!

We have a wonderful week ahead~ Make yours the best! Thanks so much for visiting my always very humble and always very primitive blog...

...A New Endeavor...

I have been wanting to branch out in new directions this year and I stumbled on this great workshop offered by Dixie Redmond. I love Izannah Walker dolls and Queen Anne dolls too...but they are so structured . I have been just the opposite... In my world, mistakes are welcomed and only add to the character and charm. Well, here comes my challenge...Can I follow strict directions and produce a doll that looks like it's supposed to? I'm fairly good at directions so I hope so... Cross your fingers for me and be nice when I post the finished doll...please...~LOL~
***
On another topic, I'm looking at needle punch and rug hooking too ...maybe next month!! I do have a couple of new dolls to list soon but I don't know yet if they will be put on "Picturetrail" or "Etsy"...Please be watching...I'll let you know. :0)

... More Rabbit Folke ...

As promised, the boring repetitious "Ebay" title has been replaced with a more interesting and eye catching title to hopefully get you to read this paragraph...I mean my Ebay title in the past got right to the point and you really didn't have to read thus far... I used to just come right out and state that I wanted to direct you to my new ebay listing just by the title..."Ebay Update"...
However, just putting that as a title every week was beginning to become so dull and boring...Frankly, I was getting embarrassed! ... Now, as stated last week, I will try very hard to think of new and unique descriptions for my "Ebay Update" so that I won't be embarrassed and you won't be bored... I hope by now that you are so curious and intrigued by my new "Ebay Update" (and you like my pic above) that you will click the link on my sidebar and check it out!!

... Attic Sewing Room ...

It's finally finished...except for getting rid of a little clutter here and there!! Knowing my husbands track record (a procrastinator), I thought it would take the whole year to switch attic rooms. Thank goodness I was wrong!! I got my son and husband to move the big stuff over the weekend and the rest just sorta fell in place...I love this room!! It's on the east side of the house so it gets plenty of sunlight which means less squinting for me...I do have electricity and lights up there but I still squinted too much...maybe a visit to the eye doctor is next on my list!!
***
The cats love the room and all three of them have their favorite spots up there...I just happened to find Ninny Muggins in the box...She is so black (not a speck of white anywhere) and sometimes I walk right past her because she blends into the background so easy...her bell gave her away this time and I got this cute picture...Izzy is on the old quilts by the window...She is all white and she has a hard time blending in anywhere...an easy target!! I don't have my little shadow ( E.B.) in any of these pics because she was exploring the room but I have her in my last blog so I have everyone accounted for now...whew!!
Thanks so much for stopping by my humble blog ...

...Ebay Update...

I'm gonna have to come up with another more peppy title for my ebay listings...it's beginning to look very dull seeing the same thing every week... I'll try to have a new and exciting title for next time!! Anyway, there's a brand new rabbit to go see, her name is " Miss Poppy O'Hare"... I did get very creative with her name, as you can see...Please "hop" over there and see her if you get a chance...
***
Oh, I thought I would show you the obstructionist that kept trying to get into my pictures...I managed to work around her though...Some little kitties are just hams! Maybe I should start putting her in pageants...hmmmm....

... John and Abigail...

My husband and kids gave me the John Adams series from HBO for my birthday last September...It's a long series and I had been too preoccupied to watch it...until last weekend.
We watched disc one and two and there's one more to go. I am a history buff who is totally in love with the colonial period and extremely patriotic. I think I must have been a colonial person in another life...Anyway, this series makes you feel like you are there in the 1700's ...it's very realistic. The homes are sparse but beautifully decorated and the characters are very genteel...Manners were taught and followed in that period, which is great... The poor hygiene though would probably trip me up because I'm used to the scent of Dove soap and shampoo and I don't know if my delicate senses could deal with that issue!!!...And coming from this wonderful "cushy" time period we live in would make trying to live back in theirs very hard... It's perfectly fine to romanticize and daydream though...
***
I am currently reading a book about George Washington but I have a couple of books about John and Abigail Adams lined up next. This cold and sometimes nasty weather here has made the movies and books a very cozy way to spend the day...Along with sewing, of course!!
My humble thanks for your visit...
