...Natures Icing ...

This weekend has turned out to be a cold and icy one. North Carolina had a mixed bag yesterday and it all depended on where you lived in the state as to what fell in your neighborhood. Unfortunately, we are close enough to the coast to get a layer of warm air and a long period of freezing rain...It's beautiful to look at but it has paralyzed this area...it's not easy to drive on ice!! I think I'll be inside for a couple more days...what melts today is supposed to refreeze overnight...yuck! ...and Spring seemed so close!!!

One nice thing, plenty of time to sew those UFO's...there's too many of them hovering around here!!! Stay warm...

... New Ebay Listing ...

Just listed a primitive little rabbit on Ebay... I have been working overtime on rabbits and goodes for updates and will have a couple new listings on The Primitive Gathering on Feb 1.
I have such a list of things that I want to do and things I need to catch up on ... " Little and often fills the purse"...seems appropriate ... and slow!
***
Here's some news I can't believe...We are under a winter storm watch...There's a chance of sleet, freezing rain or snow starting Friday evening into Saturday...I'm hoping for a little snow because I don't care much for the other two options! It's been a rather brown winter here so far... so a little white would be nice... I'll surely let you know if we do get anything...It's a major event down here!!!

Oh, I got sidetracked (as usual!)...Please check out my Ebay bunny if you get a chance!!

...A Rainy Monday...

Mondays are not my favorite day...especially rainy ones! I know it's the beginning of a new week and all that stuff but for me it's the end of the weekend...Weekends used to be my catch-up days when the kids were small...but the kids are older now and so am I!! Now my weekends are "relaxing days" when I think of all the things I have to do...but that's as far as I get...just thinking!! That's why Mondays have become the "recovery" day of my week...I recover from essentially doing nothing!! But that's okay...I tell myself~"As we get older, we adjust"... Hey, this will be my new motto this year...I think I can use it to cover just about every issue...yeaaaaa!!!
***
"Emma" began last night on Masterpiece Classics...I have never read a Jane Austen book yet but I know many of her stories by heart...especially this one. I have learned them all through movies...I enjoyed the motion picture that came out awhile ago with Gwyenth Paltrow as "Emma." This current version (MC) isn't bad either. I must admit though I always fall hopelessly head-over-heels for Mr. Knightley...A good strong man dressed in period clothing gets me hooked every time!!! So, you know where I'll be next Sunday night...
***
Now reality is beginning to set in...I have lots of sewing to get to for an upcoming website update and The Primitive Gathering...maybe, Ebay??? Better go now while my momentum is building... *LOL*

...Huzzah !! ...

I'd be remiss if I didn't follow up with one more blog about the conclusion of "Cranford"...

It has turned out to be such a great story between the first portion shown last year and the conclusion this year... I am a big fan of Judi Dench and she was wonderful in this as Miss Matty. I always watch her on the weekend in "As Time Goes By". I am a huge British Comedy fan too.I was watching Hyacinth Bucket while in labor with my second child... I laughed ~ I cried...you understand! I enjoy them so much and I never get tired of watching them over and over again...

"Cranford" easily falls into this category...
***
I need to find the book and get this movie ~ It was great!!!

Oh, and "Emma" is coming up next...I can't wait for this one!!

...Keep One Eye Open...

As if we don't have enough on our plate...here's another issue that I just discovered that is going on under the cover of darkness..so to speak. It just seems as if there's never a chance to take a deep breath with these people. They have had their sites on the internet and the freedoms that still exist there for awhile. Their one goal is to eventually take away all of our freedoms...and they are slowly and very quietly doing this... The internet is the subject for the moment...
***
As you can see by all my flags and eagles and good ole George on my sidebar....I'm a freedom -loving Patriot...I don't want my country to look like Cuba...but we are all headed down that road...
If you get a chance check out this website and fill out this petition...
Please check it out and consider being a part of this...The deadline is January 14...
Thanks,
Tina

...Cranford on the Brain...

Okay, so sorry...I just did a blog earlier ...but I can't help it...Wasn't this last show great?!!
I can't wait for the next episode...Every year this happens to me, I get so caught up in these classics that Masterpiece puts out. I find it really hard to stop thinking about them throughout the week...Sunday just seems too far away!!!

...Working the Land...

Well, it's the beginning of a new year and time to clean and reorganize. After months of putting it off and making excuses, I finally hauled myself (and my son) outside to clean the backyard. We have a backyard that's more like a forest and by wintertime~ it's a mess!! There are too many trees back there and we have a couple of those extra tall Carolina pines to deal with... They drop lots of needles and make the task of raking a chore...We have another factor to deal with too...snakes!! I would not dare take on this task when the weather is warm...I like to get out there when I can see them first and they can't move too fast!!! This nice cold artic weather makes it safer to get out there and move things around...A chicken like me feels much safer!!
***
Today, I have been working on some bunnies and moving slowly...It usually takes me a couple days to recover. I don't want to say it's my age...there were more leaves this year...yeah, that's it!! Anyway, getting this behind me is such a relief. It will stay nice in the back until next fall...Thank Goodness!!

Tina

...A Warm Squirrel...

Today I spent a little time in my attic sewing room. Oftentimes the weather controls my time spent up there...if it's hot outside, I burn up...if it's cold outside, I freeze. One positive thing is that I do spend my time wisely when I'm there! The attic is divided into two spaces. Out of kindness and sweetness, I let my husband have the "big" room. After two years of me commenting on how I don't have enough room up there, my husband has been extra kind and sweet and has offered the "big" side to me...I am thrilled and can't wait to get over to that side. I'll keep you informed and take pictures...the only downside is that I'm on his schedule which means it may take the entire year!! Anyway, I'm looking forward to the move and I'll try to speed things up!!
***
While sewing in the attic, my little kitty shadow noticed a squirrel sunning and snoozing on the rooftop. I would have never seen this little guy if not for her. He blends right into the shingles... Anyway, it's such an odd place to find a squirrel in the middle of the day...
***
Sadly, this was my only excitement for today...a sunbathing squirrel on my rooftop...Oh well, you take what you can get...

...An Update Y'all ...

Just a little note to inform that I have updated my website with some new and yet unseen goodes...I have been a slug lately so I am very pleased to finally get these items listed...I always have a hard time getting back to work after the Christmas season... It's one of those things that I vow to change every year...I'm probably a day faster this year than last!!!

Please check them out...
Thanks so much from my humble heart...

...Little Eliza Jane ...

I just listed one of my new primitive dolls for this year...Every year I seem to be in a different mood and want a different look...This year I happen to be in a "cabin" mood and all I seem to be interested in is homespun and flax!!... I just go with the flow anyway so we'll see just how primitive I can get...Wait a minute, can you ever really get too primitive?...I don't think so!!!
***
Santa was extremely nice to me this year...I got a brand new camera with a cool zoom lens for all those birds in the trees...Now I can actually get pictures of them!! It also does great indoors...My old camera was such a headache because conditions had to be just right for a good shot...Boy was it a pain !! It didn't help matters either that I lost the English manual to it a long time ago...Trying to decipher the Spanish manual was no easy task for a person with only one year of high school Spanish !

Please check out my new dollie on ebay when you get a chance...just click the ebay portal on the right...Thanks so much for visiting my very humble blog...

...More Masterpiece! ...

The holidays have kept me busy this year and I have been so preoccupied that I forgot to mention that "Masterpiece Classics" is back on air!! As you know, I am a huge fan of this series. These period pieces are done so well and for a brief hour to hour and a half I am transported back in time to a more romantic era. A big reason why I'm watching!! I won't say things were better back then. They had all the troubles we have but with none of the creature comforts that we enjoy... It's still fun though to "live" in that period for a little while...Be prepared, Sean Bean (a favorite of mine) will be coming up in future shows... Many blogs to come concerning him...Here we go again!! *LOL*
****
"Return to Cranford" is coming up on January 10 and January 17...I can't wait!!

Tina
