...A Wonderful Autumn Day...

Today was one of those days that I got a little off track and couldn't get back on... I spent my day being a lazy bum and loving it!! I know I should have been working hard on all my duties and obligations...but I didn't...I'll have to work double time tomorrow!

Although there was a threat of rain and scattered storms, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful Fall day... Leaves are starting to fall in the backyard( I dread cleaning them up...but that's another blog!)... and there's a crisp coolness in the air...aaaah my favorite time of year... Did I mention, I'm a September baby?

I have been busy getting things together for The Primitive Gathering...they will be listed on the first(tomorrow)...My Colonial Pumpkin will be there...I'm very proud of her! Please click on the button on the right and take a look...

... Tis Witch Season...

It's Witch season and my house is overflowing with them... I have just listed another on ebay tonight...She is my crooked witch...probably from a spell gone wrong... Please take a look...

...Buzz ... Buzz ... Buzz ...

I have been pretty busy lately trying to get everything together and finished for my one and only show this year at Notforgotten Farm...A couple of years ago, this is all I put my time into and I usually did about 3 or 4 shows a year plus consignment shops...How quickly life changes~ and how rusty we get when we are out of the groove... It's taking me much longer now to decide what I want to make and how many I need is always an issue...It's still loads of fun even though it's loads of work!!

Although I've been distracted lately~ A girl has still gotta have fun...That's precisely why you see my cat "Izzy" dressed as a bumblebee! I couldn't resist getting the little bee cap the other day and dressing her up...Oh well, it was fun and it relieved a lot of stress!!

...Busily Missing in Action....

I just happened to be looking on my website today and noticed that the last time I added new stuff was back in May! I didn't realize it had been so long ago. I'm working on an update...I promise...

I have been a little busy as of late trying to get everything together for the upcoming show at Notforgotten Farm in VA next month. It's always in this final stretch when I start adding new things to my "To Do " list. I think I must have added 5 extra things that I want to have finished for the show ...just in the last couple of days!!

My mama(and craft show sidekick) will be going through an operation on her hand tomorrow.

She has carpal tunnel syndrome and has been in a lot of pain over the last year. She wanted to have the operation out of the way so she could sit with me at the show next month...she's a trooper... It takes about a month to recover from the surgery so hopefully all will be okay by September 19 !!

The evening is winding down. It's time to take a bath, watch television and read a little before bed. Tomorrow will be another full day of sewing and painting ...just like today. My living room is covered in doll bodies and doll clothes and fabric is strewn everywhere. My kids and husband will have to be patient just a little while longer while I slowly pull everything together...

Clutter on the floor is much better than clutter on the brain...and I need my wits about me!!LOL

... Writing Spiders....

We always called them writing spiders because it looks like they write on their webs. I remember my grandaddy telling me about the old wives tale he grew up with. The old folks always believed that it was a bad omen if they ever wrote your name in their web... Your time upon earth was short and your days were numbered... Of course, they can't spell ~ but they are so creepy you have to tiptoe by them anyway...

Late summer into early fall always brings these little creatures out. I hate to think of them quietly watching me from the bushes as I go down my sidewalk but I'm sure they do (note the paranoia)... I like it now that they are out in the open and above board so I can see them first!! They are very scary looking but harmless~ except for the induced heart attack I would surely have if one ever got on me!!

Despite their looks...I am always excited to see them. They even decorate the house and bushes for me around Halloween...I really appreciate that!

... A Work in Progress ...

I love using fabric... collecting it, daydreaming about the perfect way to use each print, and choosing the one and only calico or homespun that makes everything "POP". Nothing is grander than the pleasure of having everything come together for just the right look!!

My mama knows of my love for fabrics and the horribly big "stash" of material I hide in my attic sewing room. She has been hinting for years for a scrap quilt and Lord have mercy I can fill that request!!! I have been working here and there on it and have had a few set backs that have caused me to start all over a couple of times. However, it's been very enjoyable and I do love to play around with the colors and prints. So who knows, maybe another venue is about to open? My goal is to have it pieced and quilted before Christmas...wish me luck...I'll need it!!

I'll try to keep a progress report and photos along the way...
