Peaceful Weekend...

I can't believe another weekend has come and gone! This one was a very restful and enjoyable one. I love it when there's no stress and things just flow...I spent most of the day on Saturday in my attic sewing room. I love it...it's a great little space...I'll have to post pictures of it ...either here or in my picturetrail one day. I put on my early american music and sew away most of the day. Whenever I get a little tired of my dollies, I like to piddle around with quilt blocks. One day I would love to actually finish a quilt...I have been trying for over 10 years now... Playing around with the fabrics is the draw for me...actually completeing and assembling just don't seem so appealing!! I would love to whip up a log cabin quilt one day and list it on my website...I'll put that on my "To Do" list. :0)
I did manage to get pictures of my new dolls. I posted another listing on Ebay tonight and will be adding to my website as well as my picturetrail tomorrow. I love it when everything comes together! Life is very good. :0)
My daughter, Rebecca is watching me type and wants the computer...she'll have to wait until I finish this...I guess I'm finished for now...Please check out my new listings...you won't be disappointed!!

Busy as a Bee

It's been awhile since my last post. I have been trying to pull together some more items for my website and picturetrail. I plan on adding inventory to both. My dream is to one day have a well stocked store and some interested customers! I wish us SAHMs could accomplish everything we plan to do each day. It makes it more difficult when you feel torn between household duties..ie- supper, clean clothes etc. and sewing and painting. Everytime I strike a balance,I lose focus...I know, it doesn't make sense...but it happens...

I have been cleaning out my attic sewing room and have a couple of dolls listed on Ebay for only

.99. They are winding down now and will end tomorrow. You couldn't get a better bargain than that!! I'll be listing again on Ebay tomorrow night. Please check 'em out because I think they turned out great!!

Updates!!

I have been very busy lately trying to pull everything together in my online world. Living here in North Carolina is nice but a slower pace than the life I led in Maryland. I live on the Eastern side of the state and there aren't many craft shows or "primitive" lovers in my neck of the woods...course, I am still new here so something might pop up! Anyway, my craft show days are at a standstill and now I am trying to put together my life on the web. I have wanted to do this all along but the craft shows and the shops I used to be in slowed me down ...go figure!
I just updated my booth at "Lemon Poppy Seeds" and added some home pictures and a new doll to my picturetrail album. I will be listing on ebay again today or tomorrow so be on the lookout there...I hope to add some more listings to the website by the end of the week...so check back!

Friday...Yahoo!!!

It's so hard to believe that yet another work and school week are in the history books! I think as I become more "mature" time just seems to fly. I have spent my time on my box of dolls this week, along with the shuttle service I run between the school and home. I have also been very good at keeping up with the laundry. I 've noticed that when I slack off, the towels look like Mt. Everest and everybody runs out of underwear by Thursday! I think I'll just keep quiet about the rest of the house!! It's nice to be needed though. The kids are getting some age on them too and one day I'll wish I had that Mt. Everest in my bathroom...so I'm not complaining!
Oh, before I got sidetracked,I did mention a box of dolls...Be on the lookout for new listings .
I'm playing around with my picturetrail now and will be adding items to that soon. If you get a chance, hop over there and take a look...I think it's looking good...at least it's starting to shape up some...

Another .99 Listing ~Check it Out!

Today has been very productive . I was able to paint and assemble a lot of things today as well as get another listing on Ebay just now. I listed a set of aged cloth covered boxes in drab browns.
I used some of my reproduction calicos and stained them really heavily for a nice old look. They turned out great and I must have Spring Fever because I started them out at .99 too! I get
very impulsive sometimes!! Check them out and place your bids ~*~ Keep checking back for more listings...on all of my sites!!

What Weekend?

Don't you hate how time flies as you get older? You look forward to the weekends for relaxation and family time and before you know it...it's Sunday evening and everybody is getting ready for school and work once again. I had high hopes of catching up and surpassing my "to do" list. I didn't...it's a long story!
I have a lot of doll parts lying around in boxes that I really wanted to put together. I did manage to get a little sewing in this afternoon. I, at least, got one more step finished on the way to assembling this mountain of future dolls. Dollmaking is a very structured science...there are different steps involved in getting just the right look. It has taken me years of trial and error to come to this conclusion. You leave out a step and you'll eventually go back and do it because some lack of detail might suddenly pop out at you as you sit and wonder why no one likes her as much as you do. Then you think, 'I should have taken that one extra step'. It happens to the best of us. As I get older, I'd rather do the step than go back...I think it's called laziness!
On another note, I will be listing a couple of things on Ebay this week. I know...I said Ebay!
I want to try to list a few more things while we are still in the "Old Rules" era. Things won't be nice after May 1st. Be on the look out for new listings this week on my website too. More goodes are coming!!

I Missed It !!!

Oh heck! Unfortunately I was not able to get my listing onto Eclectic Artisans this month. I was really looking forward to it. I am in the group and will be in their next show. I can't wait!!I do have Lemon Poppy Seeds coming up on the 15th so be sure to drop over there. Sorry, more plugs... This Ebay fiasco has really shaken my foundation! Nobody likes change...especially me.I had just settled into a comfortable routine, ready to ride the storm. Now with all of the tidbits I'm getting, it's more like a hurricane!! I have just decided to get over it and move forward.I am thinking of moving over to another auction site like wagglepop or something. Afterall, Ebay climbed the ladder to succes over time...so can another site!! I'll let you know so hopefully you can follow me over there. I love the auction atmosphere. I really didn't plan on bringing up Ebay again today. I just got carried away in thought. Please bear with me as I get used to this blogging stuff!!

A Late Bloomer

Well, as always, I'm one of the last holdouts in trying something new. This has happened so many times in my life, I have lost count!! I have seen so many internet friends open blogs. They have all set up nice little venues for their primitives and announcements. It all looked so easy as I sat there and watched people expand...here, there, and everywhere. It finally dawned on me one day that sitting and keeping track of everybody was getting me nowhere!!

Events sometimes force me to change my ways also. I started selling on Ebay

a couple of years ago when craft shows were starting to dwindle. I have had a couple years of learning and expanding and selling thanks to them. Now, as I'm sure you know, the list of new rules that will be enforced soon are very unfair

and defeating to many. I honestly think they are destroying themselves from within. Maybe corporate greed has finally hit Ebay. Anyway, I'm sure they will regret their decision this time next year when they don't see that windfall profit that the little man has been providing them up until now...oh,did I get sidetracked?! Anyway, preaching aside, I am opening up MY venues now!!

Ebay is no longer my chief source of sales. I'll fill you in on a few...just for future reference and as a good business practice! I am devoting more time to my website now...it used to hang in limbo. I also have a picturetrail I'm putting together...I'm also a member of a few online magazines...Buttermilk Creek Marketplace, Eclectic Artisans Webshow, Lemon Poppy Seeds and I have another I'm still considering. These are all to wean myself from Ebay so that by the time their draconian laws go into effect...it won't matter anymore!!
